Lan Yang Tree
Planted 10 persimmon trees in Zhenxing Village, Taitung, and turned the abandoned betel nut garden into a forest with the joint efforts of everyone

It is a native tree species from Taiwan and belongs to the Diospyros family. Because of its hard, black and shiny wood, it is called "Taiwan ebony". It is a first-class broad-leaved wood in Taiwan. The hairy persimmon has a wide range of uses. In addition to its wood being used to make wooden crafts, the hairy persimmon itself has edible value. Moreover, because it remains green all year round, it is suitable for a variety of uses such as environmental beautification.
According to the Forest Act of 2015, the velvet persimmon is one of the 12 precious wood species. The other 11 species are Taiwan cypress, red cypress, Taiwan cypress, Taiwan fir, Luan Dasu, Araucaria chinensis, black heart stone, beech, Taiwan sassafras, Pistacia chinensis, and Taiwan camphor.
Planting persimmon trees can not only return land to forests, but also be helpful for economic benefits.
In recent years, Lan Yang Foods has actively responded to sustainable issues. This time, it participated in the Tree Light Avenue tree planting project initiated by the United Daily News, and joined this project with the slogan "Planting trees to promote vegetarianism, Lan Yang joins hands with the world for a better future" to revitalize abandoned land, plant economic tree species, return land to forest, and achieve a sustainable future.
